The Shared Mobility Sector in Italy

Italian shared mobility is a phenomenon that is constantly growing, from both the demand and supply side of services. Looking at it as a whole, taking into consideration all shared mobility services enabled by digital platforms, the picture is positive, and the same is true if we analyze the different services separately. Vehicle and ride-sharing services are growing in quantitative terms, demonstrating positive adaptation to the challenges emerging, case by case, in the context of Italian cities. In the second part, trends and statistics of the Italian shared mobility sector are analyzed. This analysis serves to highlight political and technical issues that must be resolved in Italy to limit the primacy of individual mobility in the advantage of shared mobility.
