A method of regenerating a particulate filter for a charged direct injection engine

It is disclosed a method for regenerating a particulate filter. In one example of a compressor oxygen from the intake system of a turbocharged petrol engine with direct injection by a cylinder and in the exhaust system is pumped. In this way, a regeneration of a particulate filter without an auxiliary air supply can be realized.
