Direct injection system for an internal combustion engine with a conical injection valve-ring insulator

2011
An injection system for an internal combustion engine comprises an injection valve pocket formed within a cylinder head for receiving an injection valve, which injects fuel into a combustion chamber defined by the cylinder head and a piston crown. The injection valve is fitted with a conical insulator which is applied in the low power operation with a lower elastic rate, whereas the conical insulator tapered during operation of the engine and the injection system with high performance between a taper portion of the injection valve and pointed to a corresponding part of the cylinder head is stuck. The insulator limits the undesirable ticking noise of the injection valve, while preventing the integrity of the tip seal of the injection valve by preventing excessive axial displacement of the injection valve during a high-load operation.
