The aim of the study: to identify changes in cognitive processes (memory, attention, thinking) of patients under the influence of chemotherapy for tuberculosis. Materials and methods. Simple prospective study. Psychodiagnostics of patients with newly diagnosed tuberculosis, being treated at an antituberculosis dispensary at the beginning of the course of chemotherapy and 3 months after the end of the intensive phase, was carried out. 50 patients (men / women) were examined from 20 to 47 years old using psychodiagnostic techniques to assess attention, verbal and visual memory and intelligence. Results of the study. Analysis of the results of the decrease in the «attention» category from the middle and high levels in the majority of patients at the beginning of treatment to low after 3 months, «verbal and visual memory» from medium to low and very low, «intellect» - from medium to below average level or even defective. Therefore, when working with this category of patients to increase adherence to treatment and to achieve compliance, medical personnel need to know the possible changes in the cognitive area of patients that occurs under the influence of antituberculosis drugs and maintain patients, observe and control, taking into account the existing characteristics in the cognitive area at various stages chemotherapy.
