Synthetic method for (3,4)-1,4- dioxo ethylidene thiophene-2'-methanol

The invention discloses a synthetic method for (3,4)-1,4- dioxo ethylidene thiophene-2'-methanol. Sodium is added into a mixed solvent of methanol and N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone NMP, and sodium and methanol are reacted to prepare a methanol-NMP solution of sodium methoxide. Then in presence of catalysts, 3,4-dibromothiophene is employed as a raw material, and reacted with sodium methoxide to generate 3,4-dimethyl thiophene. Then 3,4-dimethyl thiophene and glycerol are reacted in presence of acid catalysts and the end product EDTM is obtained. Compared to the prior art, the method is advantaged by short reaction route, low cost, relatively mild reaction, high reaction yield and the like, and the method has industrial application prospects.
