THE MENTAL HEALTH CARE IN FAMILY HEALTH STRATEGY: A REVIEW OF LITERATURE LA ASISTENCIA EN LA SALUD MENTAL EN ESTRATEGIA DE SALUD FAMILIAR: UNA REVISIÓN DE LA LITERATURA

With the reorganization of mental health care practices guided by the principles of the Brazilian Psychiatric Reform Movement, the Family Health Program (PSF) becomes an important context for the implementation of these new practices, thus becomes indispensable to know how this assistance is happening in everyday professional team of the PSF. The aim of this study is to describe the scientific production about the mental health care in the context of the Family Health Strategy. The methodology was exploratory, a literature review. For this literature review an online search was conducted through the databases LILACS, BDENF and SciELO Library with the following keywords: mental health care and Family Health Program, combined with mental health and family health descriptors. The results showed that 15 studies met the inclusion criteria and that they had four themes: the concept of mental disorder, the practical assistance, the assistance difficulties and barriers, and the possibilities of performance and motivation to change. The biomedical model has proved to be predominant in the ideas and care practices, as well as a strong need for continuing training and education in mental health.
