The method comprises: acquiring a question-type search sentence entered by a user in a search box applied to a search engine (S110); initiating a question-answer request to a question-answer server by using the search sentence as a to-be-asked question (S120); receiving an answer that is returned by the question-answer server and that corresponds to the to-be-asked question (S130); and outputting the answer by using a result display page corresponding to the search box (S140). The method and apparatus can optimize an existing inquiry-reply mechanism, simplify a question-answer procedure, and facilitate user inquiry and reply.
