Abstract The compound η 5 -C 5 H 5 (CO) 3 Mo(μ-η 1 ,η 2 -CS 2 )Mo(CO) 2 -η 5 -C 5 H 5 was characterized by X-ray structure analysis as dinuclear η 1 ,η 2 -CS 2 bridged Mo complex with an η 5 -C 5 H 5 (CO) 2 Mo group bonded side-on to a CS bond of the CS 2 moiety and an η 5 -C 5 H 5 (CO) 3 Mo group attached end-on to the second sulfur of the bridging CS 2 . This result is in contrast to the structure of η 5 -C 5 H 5 (CO) 3 MoMo-(CO) 2 (η 2 -CS 2 )-η 5 -C 5 H 5 suggested by another group. In accord with other η 1 ,η 2 -CS 2 bridged complexes both the CS bonds are elongated with respect to free CS 2 .
