Highly efficient pico-second waveguide dye laser based on a random active medium
2007
Solid-state waveguide dye lasers including distributed feedback (DFB) grating have several attractive features including minimal cost, easy fabrication, flexibility and compactness. This paper demonstrates a pico-second waveguide dye laser using an active random media by using pico-second pulse pumping. The output pulse duration of 27 ps was measured with a single-longitudinal mode at 582.2 nm with FWHM of 0.1 nm. Experimental energy slope efficiency of 20.3% and maximum output peak power of >380 kW were achieved. This device has the ability that can be applied for the laser time domain spectroscopy in visible region.
