The Nectriella Element of “Hyalodothis”

The genus Hyalodothis was described by Patouillard and Hariot (1893) as a monotypic genus with Hyalodothis clavus the type species. A second species, H. caricis, was included in a footnote as a doubtful member of the genus since it was described from a specimen with immature hymenium. My investigations of H. caricis have shown it to belong to a group of fungi distinct from H. clavus, and these results will be reported in a future paper. A third species, H. incrustans Racib., was described in 1900 on Ficus leaves from Java, but was later trans? ferred by Raciborski (Theissen and Sydow, 1915) to the genus Trabutia. Only the type species, H. clavus, and the concept of the genus Hyalodo? this Pat. & Har., will be considered here. Patouillard and Hariot (1893) gave the following description of Hyalodothis and H. clavus:
