Analysis on ultrasonography of infant urinary calculus caused by milk powder contained melamine

Objective:To sum up the characteristic sonographic appearance through analyzing urinary system ultrasonographic finings of children who were fed with milk powder contained melamine.Methods:In accordance with the diagnostic criteria,issued by Ministry of Health standard ultrasound scanning methods were applied on 3 163 cases of milk powder contained melamine feeding infants and young children.Results: One hundred and fifty-two cases with kidney calculi among them were detected and diagnosed,96 cases of male,56 cases of female,and 92 cases of the Uygur,60 cases of the Han.The diameter of stone ranged from 0.4 cm to 1.8cm.Unilateral single was 78 cases,unilateral multiple calculi was 33 cases,at the same time associated with hydronephrosis were 30 cases,with only one case of bladder stone,17 cases of ureter calculi.Conclusions:It showed that most urinary system calculus caused by milk powder contained melamine in our research is kidney calculus,single solitary kidney stones is more than others,and with loose structure.
