The field of the school principal is permanently built upon a series of tensions, contradictions and resistances, which are the product of the general framework that defines the public educational policy concerning the principal's functions and powers. In this context, the current research developed was called: The principal's political action at the district educational institutions of "Francisco de Miranda" and "Paraiso Mirador". Furthermore, this qualitative and hermeneutic research is framed within the historical paradigm while focusing on a narrative methodology. The main objective was to understand how the school principals' policy action is constructed in the foresaid district educational institutions based on the identification of three central elements. In the first place, the perception from the school, as a community, regarding the principal's being and political work. In the second place, the discourse and practices present in the political work and which comprise the policy action. Lastly, the notion of policy action throughout the managerial practices on behalf of the principals.
