Helping & caring, not only our family : NT Indigenous perspectives on volunteering. Final Report

2016
'Within Indigenous settings, volunteering plays a crucial role in maintaining networks of kin, and the interconnection of people and places. The character of this work is often highly prescribed and precisely regulated within the Indigenous organisations and institutions where it takes place. In this report, we detail some of the ways in which we have come to learn about Indigenous volunteering as contributing to community building within the three Indigenous civil societies we have engaged in this project - Galiwin'ku, Wurrumiyanga and Darwin.' - Introduction
