The seldinger approach to percutaneous nephrostomy and ureteral stent placement

The Seldinger approach to percutaneous nephrostomy and ureteral stent placement involves needle-puncture, guide wire introduction, tract dilation and catheter placement as in angiography. We have used this approach on 101 obstructed renal units without significant complication.
