Inheritability of Ultrasonic Effects—a Review

1971
Occasionally reports have appeared of biological systems, treated with ultrasound, which exhibited changes from normal, the changes being then passed on to offspring. These cases will be reviewed, with emphasis on the mutations produced in the author's laboratory. A tentative mechanism whereby low‐intensity ultrasound might induce nonlethal mutations will be presented.
