STUDIES ON THE PHOTOCATALYTIC DEGRADATION OF RDX IN WATER BY Pt/TiO_2

Photocatalytic degradation of cyclotrimethylenetrinitramine(RDX)was done by using Pt/TiO2 photocatalyst under the irradiation of simulant sunlight.The photocatalytic degradation of RDX followed first order kinetics.Nitryl of RDX molecule was translated into nitrite and nitrate ions.With catalyst,the conversion rate of RDX was not improved but the oxidation rate for COD of RDX solution and intermediate product of nitrite were increased greatly.The photocatalysis degradation of 10mg·l-1 nitrite showed that the oxidation rate of nitrite ions were enhanced 16.8 times.
