Research on Real-time Data Transmission of Low-cost Sweeping Robot Based on SLAM Algorithm

Sweeping robots have attracted significant attention, which is particularly useful to improve human living standards. One of the key technologies of the robots is the simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) algorithm. However, the step of data interruption caused by the instability of the network during the process of data transmission to the upper computer is a fundamental problem. Existing methods approaches suffer from inefficiency limitations. To address this issue, we propose a method of using shared memory that significantly improves efficiency. Moreover, we select the Gmapping algorithm according to the conditions of the robot hardware equipment. Extensive experiments under different settings demonstrate that the sweeping robots based on our model and approach are competitive.
