키네틱 아트가 적용된 스마트 텍스타일 디자인 연구

2020
The development of technology has enabled a type of fusion between digital technology and textiles, thereby creating the field of smart textiles. It is necessary to go beyond the field of textiles, which have only technological and scientific value, and to approach the subject from the perspectives of art and shapes. This study will compare and analyze the interconnections between kinetic art, in which the movement of visual effectiveness could become a type of artwork, and the dynamic elements possessed by smart textiles. In doing so, it intends to differentiate from the existing smart textile research that emphasizes practical and technological development. Additionally, it will prioritize the figurative features which appear in smart textiles, and intends to prepare a case-analysis framework by analyzing and understanding the elements of kinetic art expressions that appear in smart textile design by studying artwork in relation to the intentions and characteristics of designers and authors. The contents as well as various elements, such as kinetic art expression methods and formative characteristics, which appear in the selected designs, will be analyzed to suggest the directionality and experimental phrasing that indicate the future direction of smart textile design. Smart textiles have been grouped and analyzed according to their functions (passive, active, and super). It was discovered that kinetic art and smart textiles have in common movement and interactivity. In this study, it is shown that the scope of kinetic art has broadened, in keeping with the wider usage of technology. This also means that new possibilities due to technological advancements can also be found in the textile field. Whereas previously the focus of smart textiles was on technology and functions only, this focus can now be expanded on the basis of the formative elements of kinetic art.
