Development of a broiler industry in Thailand: a challenge for the new millennium.

The broiler industry in Thailand has steadily developed from subsistent farming to an export-driven industry. All aspects of broiler production, namely choice of genetic stock, feeding and nutrition, health, housing and management as well as processing and product development are discussed. The paper also addresses the opportunities and challenges for the industry in the future where consumer demands and awareness, trade agreements, and environmental and related issues will be focused upon.
