Library Networking in Agricultural College Libraries in Maharashtra, India: A Survey

The role of agricultural libraries in the networked digital era with the help of automation, digitization, resourcesharing, Library Management software, Consortium for e-Resources in Agriculture (CeRA), and institutional repositoriesKrishikosh, AGRICAT, IDEAL eGranth project. The financial support provided by the Indian Council of AgriculturalResearch (ICAR) is a good initiative for the strengthening and development of agricultural libraries. Indian Council ofAgricultural Research (ICAR) is encouraging e-learning for promoting the use of e-resource in agriculture. Un-doughtily, therole of agricultural libraries and information centers and the library professionals associated with them is good because todayeverybody in agricultural society wants to be updated for the latest agricultural research, move forward to play role inincreasing crop productivity, and wants self-sufficiency in the agriculture sector. Certainly, there is a good opportunity to playan important role for agricultural libraries in the networked digital era. The paper discussed the membership of Agriculturallibraries with various library networks as well as reasons for joining this network. The online survey was conducted in themonth of January 2021 and Total of 40 libraries responded for the same.
