Dynamic equivalent circuit of deep-bar cage induction motor

Thermal modelling of an induction motor within the period of starting, from the instant of switch on to establishment of the preliminary 1 steady state conditions in the motor, is a case-dependant procedure. It is strongly affected by the method of starting, the electrical parameters of the motor, and the mechanical characteristics of the motor and the attached load. A procedure to determine a set of speed-dependant parameters is proposed for the classic equivalent circuit. Then a simulation is carried out and the results are verified by a comprehensive test.
