Untersuchung zur Zwei-Medien-Abrasion von Titanverblendkeramiken

2003
nium. The objective of this study was to compare the two-body wear of low fusing titanium ceramics to that of a higher fusing ceramic. Samples of low fusing ceramic fused to titanium were loaded in a dual-axis chewing simulator with 40 N for 100.000 chewing cycles. Samples of a higher fusing ceramic fused to a CoCr alloy served as controllgroup. In intervalls of 20.000 cycles the volume loss was measured by a 3D-laserscanner. After 100.000 cycles low fusing titanium ceramics showed a mean volume loss of 0,48 ′ 0,19 mm 3 (Vitatitan), 0,55 ′ 0,19 mm 3 (Triceram), and 0,28 ′ 0,04 mm 3 (Duceratin), the higher fusing metal ceramic (Omega 900) of 0,61 ′ 0,12 mm 3 . The differences between Duceratin versus Triceram and Omega 900 proved to be significant (p = 0,002 and p = 0,013). The mean loss of volume continuously increased to the end of experiment. Differences between the wear of low fusing ceramics and the higher fusing ceramic were not confirmed by the present two-body-wear investigation.
