Rural sanitation in morocco : Situation, realizations and perspectives

Sanitation has become one of the major projects of local authorities for the coming years. The Moroccan legislator has positioned the town at the center of the management of the service. The problems of sanitation take on a particular importance in rural areas. New challenges are imposed on the elected representatives of small municipalities. In addition, the variety of partners and the cumbersome administrative procedures make the subject even more complex. This article puts at the disposal of the political leaders, and technicians from rural communities a set of concrete elements of understanding of the rural sanitation sector, as much in its legislative field as in its administrative and technical aspects answering the main questions that they may ask. As such, this article will clarify the decisions of elected officials, and feed the reflections of all stakeholders in rural sanitation.
