Toxicities and Field Control Efficacy of Six Pesticides to the Mustard Aphid Lipaphis erysimi Kaltenbach(Hemiptera: Aphididae)

2012
The toxicities and field control efficacy of six insecticides to mustard aphid Lipaphis erysimi were studied.[Results] The results show that the mustard aphid has developed varied resistant level to different pesticides.Among the tested pesticides, chlorpyrifos has the highest toxicity with a LC50 of 0.1215 mg/L,then is the abamectin, with a LC50 of 0.7795 mg/L.The beta-cypermethrin has the lowest toxicity with a LC50 of 996.8046 mg/L.The field experiments show that the six pesticides tested,i.e.imidacloprid,abamectin,acetamiprid,emamectin benzoate, chlorpyrifos and beta-cypermethrin,all have high control efficacy to the mustard aphid with at least 98% control efficacy in 3 days and 100% control efficacy in 14 days.[Conclusions] Compared with the green peach aphid Myzus persicae, mustard aphid presently has very low resistant level to the six pesticides tested in this study in field.
