Local and Ultra-Local Institutional Network, Corporate Entrepreneurship and Clustered Firm's Upgrading

The upgrading of clustered firms could lay the micro-foundation for cluster upgrading as a whole.Prior research,however,paid scant attention to the means and mechanisms by which clustered firms upgrade.In the context of transition economy,we reveal the underlying mechanism though which institutional network fuels clustered firm's corporate entrepreneurial activities and upgrading.Using data from firms within four industrial clustered in Zhejiang Province,the empirical analysis shows that corporate entrepreneurial activities has positive bearing on clustered firm's upgrading,and both local and ultra-local institutional networks have positive impacts on clustered firm's entrepreneurial activities.We conclude with discussions of theoretical contributions and managerial implications.
