Research Interventions in Secondary Schools: Reviewing Methodology for a Mental Health Literacy Program on Loss & Grief Issues for Years 11 and 12 Students
2005
This paper reports the methodology used for a mixed qualitative and quantitative research intervention dealing with adolescent mental health and resilience linked to loss, grief and transition issues for years 11 and 12 students in the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) study program. It also reviews research outcomes in working closely with some Melbourne-regional secondary schools. The wide-ranging intervention recommended that loss and grief education units should be incorporated into existing subjects in the VCE curriculum.
