Ithasbeenverified recently thatsingle carrier cyclic prefixed (SC-CP) withfrequency domainequalizer (FDE)isapromising system formobile communication androbust channel estimation isneededtobuild theequalizer's weight. Conventional SC-CP wireless sytemusestraining sequences thatputineverypacket togetthechannel information. Thisincreases theoverhead of thesystem. Herewe propose a newchannel estimation techniquebyemploying cyclic prefix (CP)tomaintain bothsystem performance andthroughput forthisSCwireless system, with 300kHzbandwidth and1.6Mbpsthroughput. TheCP,whichis inserted between blocked datatoavoidinter-block interference (IBI), canbeviewed asasource ofchannel information. Ifwecan estimate thetransmitted CPbyconventional way,wecancontinue toestimate thechannel adaptively. Thesimulation results show thattheproposed channel estimation technique canmaintain thesystemperformance andgives 14,9% higher throughput compared withtheconventional onewhenthenumberofpacket isincreased.
