Carbonaceous deposits associated with propane dehydrogenation over a Pt/alumina catalyst

1995
This paper adresses carbon deposition that occurs in the catalytic dehydrogenation of lower alkanes. It presents a study of the nature and reactivity of the carbon deposit by using carbon-13 and hydrogen-2 transient isotope labelling techniques when the materials was newly deposited. As the deposit aged its reactivity to oxygen was studied and finally the material was extracted from the catalyst and analyzed by GC-MS
