The invention relates to a technology for improving metal mold casting moulding by a top forced water cooling method. The technical scheme includes: installing a water-cooled tube over a vent hole and outside an original metal mold casting mould runner, and introducing cooling water; at the end of casting, cooling and solidifying a metal liquid, and conducting feeding with massive feeder head metal liquid in the runner; then, sensing casting temperature by a temperature sensor, when the casting finishes solidification and enters a semi-solid state, introducing cooling water to the casting surface, and applying forced water-cooling to speed up cooling of the casting and improve the casting quality simultaneously. The method put forward by the invention effectively solves the contradiction problem of feeder head heat preservation and casting cooling near the feeder head in traditional metal mold casting production, improves the casting quality, and greatly accelerates casting production, thus being an effective implementation plan comprehensively considering the cost and effect.
