Valore prognostico della cistoscopia a 3 mesi in pazienti sottoposti a terapia endovescicale adiuvante per carcinoma vescicale T1G3

One hundred and sixty-five patients with T1G3 bladder urothelioma were treated conservatively with TUR and adjuvant intravesical chemotherapy until progression or T1 G3 recurrence. The intravesical alternating mitomycin and epirubicin combination was used in 91 patients (55%). At an average follow-up of 46 months, 74 patients (45%) had recurrence, 23 of whom (14%) recurrent T1G3. Recurrence was found at three months in 13 patients (7.8%), while 13 patients (7.8%) showed progression, which was manifested in 30% of these patients with positive cystoscopy at three months and in 15% with recurrence in a subsequent period. Overall 23 patients (14%) died, 9 (5%) of whom due to urothelial carcinoma.
