Adaptability study on sweet Tamarindus indica cv. Silitang from Thailand in Yuanmou dry-hot valley.

An attempt is made to study the adaptability of the Silitang,a complete sweet type of valley Tamarindus indica from Thailand,in Yuanmou dry-hot valley.The variety is planted on the rain fed dryland of the dry-hotvalley.The results showed that it had good adaptability,its biology character adapted to dry-hot condition,its phenological stage followed climate change,and grew fast with high yield.The offspring generation segregated into a complete sweet type and a sweet-sour type,the complete sweet ones suited to eat directly.The sweet-sour ones suited to eat directly and process.
