A control method for a converter and inverter

The invention relates to a converter with a voltage intermediate circuit, consisting of at least one network-side converter, which converts the alternating or three-phase voltage of the supply network into a DC voltage from the DC link capacitors which smooth out this DC voltage and at least one load-side converter, consisting of the smoothed DC voltage is an alternating - or three-phase voltage generated in order to supply at least one load. The network-side converter is designed so that it can operate in both a fundamental-frequency mode and in a timed, controlled operation. The object of the invention is to provide a solution, in which on the one hand the intermediate circuit voltage is at all times high enough for trouble-free operation of the load-side converter and the load-side converter and at the other hand, the losses in the network-side converter can be reduced as possible.
