Efecto de la fertilización orgánica en el rendimiento y calidad nutritiva de Pennisetum purpureum Schumach

2020
Among the main problems that affect Dominican livestock are: the poor quality of pastures, the high costs of raw materials for the manufacture of concentrated feed and the lack of fertilization of pastures, among others. The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of bovine manure and mycorrhizal fungi on the forage yield and nutritional quality of four cultivars of Pennisetum purpureum Schumach, these are: Super merker, Marafalfa, Purple Merker and Clone CT-115. The study was conducted at Hacienda El Mamey in Higuey, Dominican Republic. A completely randomized design was used with a factorial arrangement of cultivars (4) and three fertilizers of bovine manure 60 ton / ha / year and mycorrhizal fungi with 40 grams with three repetitions. The sowing was in rows, in plots of 20 m2. The cuts were made every 45 days after regrowth and the application of the sources was after cutting. The variables evaluated were height, forage yield and nutritional quality. The data were analyzed with the Statistical Program InfoStat (2015), the analysis of variance and Duncan's test p≤ 0.05 were performed, for the mean separation that were significant. The results indicate that the cultivar Merker morada reached a greater height of 144 cm due to the effect of fertilization with mycorrhiza. There was no response for the yield of green matter for the cultivars, however the Marafalfa cultivar presented a higher percentage of protein with 14.83 in with the application of mycorrhizal fungi.
