The Primordial Inflation Polarization Explorer (PIPER): instrument description

We describe the PIPER balloon born instrument for observing the polarization of the cosmic microwave background. The experiment uses two co-aligned cold optic telescopes with variable-delay polarization modulators as their first optical element.
