Control source (s) of light using a portable device

A method for controlling a light source (105) via a handheld computing device (110), the method comprising: receiving (405) an input produced by one or more sensors handheld computing device, wherein the input indicative of an orientation current handheld computing device; in response to determining (410), based at least in part on the input, the handheld computing device is in an orientation predefined activation, - acquiring (415) one or more frames of image data through an image sensor (325) connected to the handheld computing device (110), - determining said one or more frames of image data comprising image data representative of the light source (105), and - obtaining (420) an identifier of the light source; and transmitting (435) to the light source (105) indicative of desired light settings for the light source (105) command.
