Design and simulation of dual band EBG

Wireless communication and technology is a vital part of life.Research and development in multiband antenna has increased exponentially. Metamaterials are artificially engineered structures that enhance the performance of antennas. Some of the notable applications that utilize metamaterials' amazing properties are antennas, superlens, absorbers, cloaking devices, Seismic protection and light & sound filtering.This article discusses various metamaterials such as Electromagnetic Band Gap (EBG) structures, Frequency Selective Surfaces (FSS) and Artificial Magnetic Conductors (AMC). Design and simulation of a novel dual band EBG is presented.
