Quantitative relationship of the crystallochemical and thermal properties of kaolinite

1212 Study of kaolinite usually includes the determina� tion of its typomorphic characteristics: the degrees of crystallization and of structure defectiveness, dimen� sions of the coherent scattering blocks (CSB), and thermal properties [1]. These data are used to know the conditions of the formation of kaolin deposits and of ores accompanied with kaolinization. The data are also usable in processing tests of kaolin raw matter [2]. This report presents the results of studies of the properties of an uncommon variety of kaolinite from the Latnaya deposit in Voronezh oblast.
