The theme of the present paper is highlighted on University wise distribution of CPE Colleges in Maharashtra. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has initiated a scheme College with Potential for Excellence. To achieve excellence mainly in teaching and to begin a research culture in colleges. University Grants Commission has introduced the scheme of College with Potential for Excellence, during the 10thfive year plan in year 2004-2005.
