Consistency Verification of SiPM and HFCT for detecting partial discharges

2020
Compared with the traditional partial discharge detection method, the photometric method can avoid the influence caused by electromagnetic interference. Silicon photomultiplier (SiPM) is a new type of photometric sensor. In order to explore the consistency between it and high frequency current transducer (HFCT) on performance in detecting partial discharge, this article draws the phase resolved partial discharge (PRPD) pattern under different defects and compares the two kinds of system operators. Finally, we draw conclusion that SiPM and HFCT have a good consistency in the partial discharge starting voltage and pulse resolution for different discharges and the consistency of two statistical operators is also good. The partial discharge detection capability of SiPM is further verified.
