보건의료자원과 COVID-19 누적확진자 비율의 관계

Objective : The study attempts to find how health care resources are related to the cumulative incidence of COVID-19 cases among the countries. Methods : Data published by WHO and OECD were analyzed. Correlation analysis and hierarchial regression analysies were conducted and the final model was selected. Results : Number of physicians and number of beds per 1,000 people and per capita health care expenditure were significantly related to the cumulative proportion of COVID-19 patients. Number of physicians and per capita health care expenditure were positively related to the cumulative proportion of COVID-19 patients. Number of beds per 1,000 people was negatively related to the cumulative proportion of COVID-19 patients. Number of corona virus patients, such as SARS and MERS, tuberculosis and per capita GNI were used for control. Conclusions : Health care resources are needed to prepare for the unexpected outbreak such as COVID-19. Enough physicians are needed to diagnose and treat patients as soon as a communicable diseases spreads. Enough hospital beds are required to treat and isolate patients when a disease spread among people.
