Patología tumoral en neurocirugía

2001
Introduction: The actual incidence of intracranial tumors is 16.5 cases per 100.000 habitants. Half of them are Primary SNC tumors. The high morbimortality that they present makes neurosurgeons improve microsurgical technics. Material and methods: Since the beginning of Neurosurgical practice in H.Z.G.A. Prof. Dr. RamOn Carillo in 1997, 180 procedures were done in 48 patients with tumoral pathology. They are analyzed according to localization, histopathology and surgical technique. Results: In ours series 44 patients had intracranial tumors and 4 were spinal. Forty-two tumors were primary SNC tumors, and only 6 were metastatic. There was a predominance of glial variation accounting 54% in our series (26 cases), followed by meningothelial tumors with 16.6% (8 cases). Conclusions: All the patients of this series have the same pathology of that presented in larger series of patients.
