InSAR monitoring of marsh wetlands flow dynamics in Great Lakes

2019
There is limited research of InSAR applications in very dynamic wetlands in the Great Lakes or for other Canadian wetlands. In this study, we investigated the potential of using C-band SAR data for monitoring marsh wetlands flow dynamics in the Great Lakes. Results from InSAR observations in Long Point, Ontario, Canada indicate that consistent coherence from Radarsat-2 and Sentinel-1 data was observed in cattail and phragmites dominated areas, which enabled the generation of reliable measurements for monitoring water level changes.
