A Concept for Evaluating the Dust Emission of a Single Sowing Coulter on a Laboratory Test Bench

Under the assumption that no unintentional leakages release seed dressing dust, the coulters are of crucial importance with regard to the emission of seed dressing dust. To date, no investigations have been carried out that specifically investigate the release of dust in the area of seed coulters. Within the scope of this work, a measurement setup was investigated with which the dust release of individual sowing coulters can be evaluated. The test setup used is suitable for determining differences in dust emission from different coulters. Furthermore, it is shown that the adjustment of the coultergeometry influences the dust emission. This can simplify the development of drift-reducing technology in the field of seed drills.
