A generalized framework for deriving ring based termination detection algorithms

Abstract A generalized prototype protocol framework has been developed for designing ring based symmetric distributed termination detection algorithms. Then, based upon the framework, the derivation of a class of such algorithms, employing uni-directional control communication around a ring, has been discussed.
