The invention relates to a digital television VOD (video on demand) control system. The system comprises a client device, a virtual STB (set top box) terminal and an STB, wherein the client device is connected with the virtual STB terminal through the internet, the virtual STB terminal is connected with a video server through the internet, and the STB is connected with the video server through an unidirectional digital television network; the client device sends a video playing request to the video server through the virtual STB terminal; the video server sends a corresponding video to the STB according to the video playing request.
