An experimental study of bi-counter swirl injector was performed to investigate the spray characteristics such as spray angle and discharge coefficient in this study. Generally bi-swirl injector which is a special type injector for a liquid rocket engine is manufactured co-swirl direction but this study focused on the reverse flow direction of each swirl injectors. Both spray angle and discharge coefficient affected by the interaction of crashed two fluids in tip mixing and internal mixing region. Spray angle was greatly decreased in bi-injection as O/F ratio increase, and discharge coefficient of outer injector decreased by O/F ratio in tip and internal mixing region compared to solo injection. From the results, it was found that fluid direction was affected on the spray characteristics of bi-swirl injector.
