Physiological aspects of the partial hepatectomy in rats.

: The authors performed extensive partial hepatectomy in Wistar rats removing from 70% to 75% of hepatic parenchyma, and observed the subsequent healing of wounds during from 6 hours to 60 days paying particular attention to the preparation for the operation and surgical technique. Complications and methods of their prevention are described. During the experiment the pattern of the morphotic elements of the blood and the levels of GOT and GPT were checked.
