Histoplasmosi disseminata in ospite immunocompetente

2002
Histoplasma capsulatum's natural habitat is nitrogen-rich ground, such as in the USA and in particular the states alongside the rivers Ohio, Missouri and Mississippi. Few cases have been reported in Europe and only a few in Italy in Emilia Romagna. The patient we observed presented with bilateral renal histoplasmosis which was treated conservatively by removal of the lesion and cryotherapy of the basal portion. The unusual features of this case was the bilateral nature of the histoplasmosis and an immunocompetent host.
