Acute Mastoiditis in Children; A Report of Two Patients Treated with Mastoidectomy.

1996
One patient had acute otitis media, the other cholesteatoma. In both the ear protruded downward and a postauricular subperiosteal abscess was presented. There were no complications, facial paresis or intracranial lesions. Both were treated with cortical mastoidectomy. Recent studies and our experience emphasize the importance of immediate mastoid surgery for acute mastoiditis in children.
