The Stock of Gogi-char Salvelinus leucomaenis imbrius in Shiso River in Shimane Prefecture.

This report is on the status of gogi-char Salvelinus leucomaenis imbrius stock in Shiso River, a tributary of Hikimi River in Shimane Prefecture. In this study, annual natural and fishing mortality coefficients of gogi-char have been estimated as 0.9322 and 0.7808 respectively by the average age method. Its longevity is six years. The adult stock of gogi-char is between about 22 and 54 percent of its virgin stock. However, a population analysis has made it clear that gogi-char is slightly overfished.
